Spicy Buldak Cream Pasta
Buldak, also known as "fire chicken," is a popular Korean dish that is loved by many for its fiery, spicy flavor. It is typically made with marinated chicken that is grilled or stir-fried in a spicy sauce, which includes gochujang (a fermented red chili paste), gochugaru (Korean chili flakes), soy sauce, sugar, and other seasonings. The dish originated in South Korea and has since gained popularity around the world, with many restaurants offering their own take on buldak. There are also different variations of buldak, including buldak-bokkeum-tang (a spicy chicken stew), buldak-ramen (spicy chicken flavored instant noodles), and buldak-kimchi (spicy chicken with kimchi).
The key to making delicious Buldak is in the sauce. The sauce should be well-balanced, with the perfect amount of sweetness, saltiness, and spiciness. The chicken is then marinated in the sauce for at least a few hours before being cooked, allowing the flavors to fully infuse into the meat. Today's recipe plays on a twist on traditional Buldak using an instant ramen version of Buldak that captures the spicy essence of the traditional dish in its sauce merged with creamy sauce to create a savory spicy cream pasta that won't disappoint!
